Dr. Peter McGinn - Veterinarian

Peter  McGinn

Dr. McGinn grew up in Andover, Massachusetts, and began his academic journey at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass), where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinary and Animal Sciences. He remained at UMass for an additional year to complete a Master of Science in Neuroscience and Behavior, conducting research with rhesus macaques.

He then relocated to Starkville, Mississippi, to attend the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Following graduation, Dr. McGinn completed a rigorous three-year residency in Veterinary Anatomic and Comparative Pathology through dual appointments at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

After completing his residency, Dr. McGinn transitioned into small animal general practice, where he enjoys combining his advanced pathology training with compassionate, evidence-based patient care. He is excited to be part of the VMC team and looks forward to building lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

Outside of work, Dr. McGinn enjoys spending time with his wife, Meghan, their daughter, Daphne, two dogs (Mango and Skylar), and three cats (Quinn, Fish, and Pickles). In his free time, you'll often find him woodworking, playing chess, running, gaming, or reading.
